Raymont's First Day of School

Yeah!! Raymont's first day of school is finally here. With the district and teachers union coming to an agreement, the students are going back! They were on strike for a little over two weeks. We were excited to walk Raymont to school as were a lot of parents. Here is a picture of Raymont in front of his classroom....(yes 5th grade already)!

Here is Raymont with his best friend Matthew. This is the first year since going to this school that they are not in the same class together. Actually all of his buddies are separated in different classrooms.

Here he is walking into class, looking a bit timid but putting his hand up to say "bye."

This school year we're going to give him some responsibility and independence by walking home from school two days a week. One day the nanny will be home and the other time I'll be home. Since the school is behind our neighborhood there are several kids that walk in our area. Matthew lives in the next neighborhood so they can walk from school together. We are going to see how he fares by walking to school by himself. It's kinda nervous yet the same time exciting as he is growing up! Can't keep him sheltered forever.....
